I accept that still a large part of the map is covered with clouds of war, disease and hunger, but some progress seems to be evident. My points of observation are not typical but different: Europe (including Poland, UK), Kuwait and California.'All generalizations are wrong...' I remember it, but I notice that many people, growing physically, professionally, financially and so on are afraid of ageing. They dream of staying young forever: to dress, to play, to behave as children. Is it possible to have an eternal childhood? Probably not, but some want to test such possibilities.'All originalities are only undiscovered plagiarism...' My ideas too are not original in that sense. There is a word: 'KIDULT' (kid+adult; probably, it was for the first time used in New York Times, 2003).Adults didn't enter a different world of fantasy but they tried to shape the world into a 'child reality'. What does that mean?It started with dresses and gadgets. Dresses were designed like school uniforms with prints of cartoon heroes. Probably the first ever step was based on the 'Hello Kitty' theme. And recently we had 'Snoopy in Fashion' during the Fashion Week 2009 in New York. Designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Lacroix took part. People in their thirties are the main target of Kidult fashion.Adult childhood is not limited to dresses. Professor of Sociology at Kent University, UK, Frank Furendi said: 'Adult age has lost its charm and has nothing attractive to offer.' Kidults want to prolong the time of childhood and generate more and more time for playing: computer games, entertaining parks like the collossal Bush Garden, the best equipped in the world, Disneyland and so on.Most popular among them are paintball, minigolf and bowling. Even animated movies are directed towards the same to cater to both groups- children and adults, combining their worlds and needs (Shrek, Ice Age, Madagascar and so on). Again Kidult is the target.They like to be entertained all the time but without much effort or participation. Escalation of attraction without personal participation and reflection means that it must be faster, shorter, more glittering, funny, noisy and exciting. It should not be boring, sleep-inducing, lonely and so on.Maybe there is a secret. Globalization has brought a paradox with it: even crowds can be lonely. In a crowd you don't see the person. There is a lack of personal contact. There is no friendship, love, trust, talking or even sympathy. Any good feeling is only for a certain person in front of you.Maybe, we are also afraid of the Almighty's greatest gifts: free will. We have to take a decision, conscious decision... and we have to be really responsible in taking it and executing it. There is no excuse and no escape; this is the way for us to be adults.It is difficult. Nothing from the Kidults world can replace real beliefs and ideas, which I have chosen based on my hard work, reflection, experience and wisdom.From another angle, being a Kidult I would only be an easy target for manipulators in any field: commercial, artistic, ideological, political or even religious.I am not in any way against pleasure, entertainment, freedom and joy.
